Upstream Development and Media Platform

Some processes resist expansion from laboratory scale to industrial volumes. We have developed fed-batch processes for our AGE1.CR^® avian cell lines that allow production even of host-restricted viruses at industrial scale in chemically defined media. The formulation of these media is a property of ProBioGen thus allowing transfer of the complete process to any preferred production site without dependence on specific commercial medium manufacturers.

Our process is freely scalable from 5 mL to large volumes. Having full control over medium formulations and ability to investigate virus replication in parallel small-scale reaction vessels allows us to develop novel processes or further optimize yields for specific virus strains and applications.
